How does it work?
The ICDL syllabus is designed to cover the key concepts of computing, its practical applications and their use in the workplace and society in general. It is broken down into seven modules, a test for each must be passed before the ICDL certificate is awarded. ICDL is open to anyone regardless of age, gender, education, experience or background.

The seven modules:
1. Basic Concepts of Information Technology.
2. Using the Computer and Managing Files.
3. Word Processing.
4. Spreadsheets.
5. Database.
6. Presentation.
7. Information and Communication

Registration for the ICDL is through Approved Test Centers. As the can-didate passes the test for each module, the Approved Test Center will record the candidate's success in a central database. The tests may be taken in any order at an individual's own pace. When all tests have been successfully passed, the candidate will receive the ICDL certificate.
